Senior Spotlight: Will Henke #3

2019 Henke rev webOur next Senior Spotlight for the 2019 class is on Will Henke.

Will is a four-year varsity starter and team leader who typically plays center midfielder or outside back. Will was named a 2018 12-AAA All-District player, and his Tennessee Soccer Club team won the U19 Division 1 Tennessee State Championship in the fall. He has built many fond memories including playing soccer in USYS National League, in regional leagues around the southeast, and a tour of friendlies in England.

Will’s favorite clubs are Nashville SC and Arsenal FC.

A true scholar-athlete, Will is projected to be valedictorian, earned a 36 on the ACT, and was named a National Merit Finalist. He has taken 15 AP classes at Independence. After his sophomore year, he attended the Tennessee Governor’s School for Emerging Technologies.

Voted “Most Involved” in the Class of 2019 Senior Superlatives at Indy, Will is very active in Independence’s award-winning theatre program, serves on the student council, and was elected Coming Home King by the student body.

Will’s brother, Sam, is a freshman goalkeeper for Indy Soccer.

Will plans to attend Vanderbilt University and study Human and Organizational Development this coming fall.
